The Apple laboratory is developing Display technology according to Tim Culpan of Bloomberg. The display technology is being developed for several of Apple's products and not just iPhone's. According to the report, most of the R&D happens at the Apple headquarters based in US, which is then outsourced to the facility in Taiwan.
The report states that the company is also looking at OLED displays for its products.
Accordingly there is a great air of secrecy surrounding the lab. Also, a look at LinkedIn shows that Apple is recruiting local staff for the facility though the total strength of the facility consists of about 50 workers. Details do not clearly indicate if the the facility could belong to Apple as any details are yet to be verified
