Japanese OEM, Sony in a bid to consolidate their mid-range segment may finally launch Xperia T4 Ultra aka Sony Lavender next month. Off late Sony has been heavily criticized with the pricing of their flagship Xperia Z3+, which costs Rs. 55,990 and we sincerely hope the company makes some amends with their next launch.
Back in May, a device codenamed Sony Lavender was found making rounds with its ‘bezel less' display renders, but sadly no official launch had followed. Now here's a new report though which suggests that the device codenamed Lavender is none other than the T4 Ultra which is a successor to the T2 Ultra.
There's a sad news though for all those phablet lovers- the device will not come with a 6 inch display as seen on the T2 Ultra. Present leaks points out at 5.5 inch Full HD display, 1.7 GHz Octa core Mediatek MT6752 processor and a 13MP rear camera.
According to the rumors the camera will be using Sony's own IMX214 sensor, same as the one used in the much popular Chinese flagships One Plus One and the Xiaomi Mi4.
The device will run Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box and will possibly receive the new Android M update in future. Sony has been generous with updates in the past, even their three generation old flagship Xperia Z1 has received a Lollipop update recently.
The Xperia T4 Ultra will also come with dual SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity. Moreover going by previous pricing trends of Sony, we can expect the device to be price under $300 (Rs 18,000).
We feel that the USP of this device lies in its ‘bezel less' design. This is something that Sony should have included in their flagship Z3+. Nevertheless let us know what you think regarding Sony's new midrange ‘bezel less' Xperia T4 Ultra? Are you equally excited about the device like us?
