Coolpad is all set to unveil a new smartphone at an event to be held on August 10. The company has started rolling out invites for its upcoming event next week, where it will launch a selfie smartphone. The new invite mentions 'Mega Selfie', which comes after the previous teaser that said 'Believe in your selfie', both of which suggest the launch of a camera centric smartphone.
The Chinese smartphone company has not revealed the name of the upcoming product. But, it might launch the Coolpad Sky 3 which was recently announced in the overseas market, and was touted as a camera centric smartphone.

As far as the specs and features of the Coolpad Sky 3 are concerned, the phone adorns an 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 83 degree wide angle lens, which is one of its highlighted features. Also, it has an 8MP rear camera paired with LED flash light support. It has an F/2.0 aperture. Both the cameras have HDR, editing tools, GIF support as well as HD video recording feature.
The Coolpad Sky 3 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD display with 720p resolution. To take care of its performance, there is a 1GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT67355P chipset under the hood. The Chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage, expandable using a microSD card with up to 128GB capacity. The phone is powered by a 2,500mAh battery.
In the software department, the phone is shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Connectivity options in the phone include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0. It also has a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The phone is expected to be priced around Rs 10,000 in India.
