Gionee will follow-up MWC 2015 launch of the Elife S7 with a new device lined up for this year event. In late January, Gionee posted a teaser regarding the launch of their Elife S8 on February 22 at the MWC 2016. For those unaware the MWC 2016 is scheduled to take place at Barcelona, Spain from 22nd-25th February.
The Gionee Elife S8 is an updated version of the Elife S7 which was one of the slimmest dual SIM smartphone when it was launched last year. Now, the Elife S8 with model number GN9011 has been spotted on Geekbench running the Helio P10 processor.
The listing in Geekbench reveals that the Elife S8 will be powered by MediaTek MT6755 SoC, which is known as eight-core Helio P10 processor. The handset is listed to have a 4GB of RAM and will run on Android 6.0 operating system. Expect, the chipset, software and the benchmark score, the listing does not offer much detail regarding the Elife S8.
However, few rumors suggest that Gionee is focusing on the camera department of the Elife S8 and it is quite surprising considering the fact that S series is mainly meant to be fashionable. In fact the company had previously stated that their E series are meant for delivering the best ever camera experience to its users.
Earlier rumors clams that one of the most exciting features of the Gionee Elife S8 is the "Pressure Sensitive" display. While it's still not clear what Gionne is trying to refer to, there's a possibility for the company to integrate a Force Touch panel in the Elife S8.
