Google Nexus 6P with Android Marshmallow confirmed: Top 10 specs and features to know

Google's next generation Nexus smartphone are making headlines for quite some time now, due to which much is known about the upcoming smartphones already. Just about a day ahead of the official unveiling of the new Nexus smartphones on September 29, the original presentation slides have leaked to give a clear picture of the specification details of Huawei made Nexus 6P smartphone.

The latest leaked information on Huawei's Nexus 6P has been spotted in a public image gallery posted to Imgur. The images look like slides that have probably been designed for the speaker's launch notes, or retail employees for promotion of the upcoming smartphone.

The slides show the phone from different angles and give detailed information on hardware specifications, which are in line with the previously leaked information, as well as confirm Android Marshmallow version on board.

Design:

The Nexus 6P smartphone, as seen in the images, dons a metal body design, which looks nice and sturdy. As per the given information, the phone weighs in at 178 gram, which means it is lighter than Motorola's Nexus 6 that weighs 184 grams. Good to know that the Nexus 6P weighs lighter, despite the fact that it has a metal body and a bigger battery that its predecessor. Another noticeable part is that the Nexus 6P is slightly shorter and measures in almost 3mm thinner than the Nexus 6. Its dimensions are 159.4 x 77.8 x 7.3mm. The slide also confirms dual front-facing speakers.

Display:

As seen in the slides, it is clear that the phone will come with a 5.7- inch AMOLED display with WQHD (2560x1440 pixels) resolution that is four times the pixel resolution of the 720p resolution. The display is topped with Corning's latest Gorilla Glass 4 for protection from wear and tear.

Chipset and Memory:

Huawei Nexus 6P will be powered by Qualcomm's 2.1 version of the Snapdragon 810 processor, which offers better performance and does not heat up like its previous version. The processor is supported with 3GB of RAM, which should be good considering that Nexus devices come with pure form of Android OS, which saves users from bloatware-related issues in their phone. The leaked slide confirms that the Nexus 6P will be available in 32, 64, and 128GB capacities.

Camera:

As per the latest specs information, the Nexus 6P sports a 12.3-megapixel rear snapper with f/2.0 which may disappoint those who were expecting a higher megapixel camera for the Nexus' flagship. Nevertheless, the side mentions that the camera allows in more light, which could mean that sensor design of the camera has 1.55 μM pixels, which captures more light than a conventional sensor that uses 1.4 μM pixels. Selfie lovers will be delighted to know that it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

Software:

The slides not only show Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board, but also include information on the benefits of the new Android iteration. It shows the use of Now on Tap feature that comes along with the new version of Android OS.

Battery:

The Huawei Nexus 6P has a battery of 3450mAh capacity, which should last for longer than a day. And yes, the Nexus 6P has quick charging mode for instant charging of battery.

Fingerprint sensor:

The phone will feature a fingerprint sensor for an enhanced security of the phone, as it will let user to put a fingerprint lock on the phone, which is unique and can't be bypassed easily.

Connectivity:

The Google Nexus 6P will house a USB Type-C charging port, which is a reversible port. Apart from this, connectivity options in the phone include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/AGPS.

Colour options:

The phone will be available in a variety of colours that include Aluminium, Graphite, Frost, and Gold options. The company might launch the Gold color in Japan initially, and eventually be made available in other countries, though we can't confirm it until the phone goes official.

Price and availability:

As for its price and availability, it is yet not confirmed if the phone will be priced higher than the predecessor or not. These details will be known only when Google will announce the Huawei Nexus 6P, along with the LG Nexus 5X in San Francisco on September 29.
