HTC has been talking of budget flagship for some time. Suffering from a no of issues, the Taiwanese company is trying their level best to make a comeback to the smartphone market with the launch of two flagship devices tomorrow. Apparently one of them seems to have leaked already. Dubbed the HTC One M9e, the alleged device sports a similar design language to the One M9, while sporting similar internal like the One M9+.
The alleged devices sports a 5 inch Full HD (1920x1080) display with a Helio X10 octa core SoC with cores clocked at 2.2GHz under the hood. This is strapped to a significantly lower 2GB RAM. Both the HTC One M9 and M9+ sported a 3GB of RAM. With even budget phones coming with a 2GB of RAM now a days, cost cuttings seems to be the alleged reason behind a lower RAM.
The camera too has been downgraded to a 13MP rear unit with dual LED flash in contrary to the 21.7MP unit as found in the M9/M9+. The front snapper has been kept same though - 4MP Ultra Pixel unit. In terms of storage the alleged HTC One M9e comes with a 16GB of internal storage along with memory expansion upto 128GB.
The device runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 with Sense UI on top. In terms of dimensions the HTC One M9e is on the thicker side at 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.61 mm. The HTC One M9e also comes with dual front facing speakers with HTC BoomSound Stereo Speakers and Dolby Audio.
Apparently it seems that the HTC One M9e is a budget offering of the company with a cocktail of features of HTC One M9 and M9+. So far the HTC One M9e seems like an awesome budget flagship offering from the company. However the fate of the device will heavily depends on HTC's pricing strategy. With Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei battling out in the mid-range category, it would tough for HTC to fit in.
The HTC One M9e will be available in Black, Gold and Silver variants and will be launched alongside the Butterfly 3 tomorrow.
