Few days back, the Chinese handset maker Huawei became the top seller of smartphones in China replacing the 'Apple of China', last quarter. As per the report from the research firm Canalys, the company had witnessed 81% surge in sales year-on-year, which pushed them past Xiaomi.
In an attempt to hold the Chinese market, Huawei has announced its new mobile under the online branding Honor. Dubbed as Honor Play 5X, this device comes with unibody metal build and a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the rear that can unlock the device quickly in under 0.5 seconds.
Looking through the specifications, the Honor Play 5X sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels at 72.5% screen-to-body ratio. It is clocked at 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor with Adreno 405 GPU besides 2GB/3GB RAM under the hood.
Moving on, this device is equipped with 16GB of built-in memory, with an expansion option of up to 128GB via microSD card slot. This dual SIM device comes shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop on top of EMUI 3.1
On the camera front, this Honor Play 5X flaunts 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, Sony / Samsung sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm wide-angle 5P lens, 5MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture, 22mm wide-angle lens, 1.4-micron-pixel size.
Further, the connectivity options include 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Fingerprint sensor and Box speakers along with Smart PA audio chip. The above hardware is powered by a 3000mAh battery under the panel.
The Huawei Honor Play 5X comes in Silver, Sunset Gold color variants at a price of 1399 Yuan (approx Rs. 14,300) for 3GB RAM and 999 Yuan (approx Rs. 10,000) for 2GB version
