Huawei is all set to launch a new device at its upcoming event, scheduled for August 17. The company has rolled out an event invite, in which it teases that there is 'something exciting' lined up for India. However, the company maintains the mystery by not giving out information about the product that would be launched at its upcoming event.
Considering that the invite comes from Huawei, and there is no mention of Honor on it, we expect that the company will be taking the wraps off its much awaited P9 and P9 Plus smartphones. The Huawei P9 is the company's flagship smartphone that was introduced alongside the P9 Plus at an event in London, in February. Here we take a recap of its specs and features:
Huawei P9 and P9 Plus: Key Specs and Feature
The P9 and P9 Plus don metal build body with slim profile, with P9 measuring in at 6.95mm and the P9 Plus at 6.98mm in thickness. Both phones will be available in single or hybrid dual SIM variant depending on the region, and feature fingerprint sensor on the back.
The key feature of the Huawei P9 series of smartphones is the 12MP dual-camera set-up, which features Leica SUMMARIT lenses and 1.25-micron pixels for better image quality in low light conditions.
In terms of connectivity, both the device shares same options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C.
The Huawei P9 will be available in Mystic Silver, Titanium Grey, Ceramic White, Prestige Gold, Rose Gold variant and Haze Gold variant. On the other hand, the P9 Plus will be available in Ceramic White, Rose Gold, Haze Gold, Quartz Grey colors.
At the time of their launch back in April, the Huawei P9 carried a price tag of £449 (approx Rs. 42,100), and the Huawei P9 Plus came at £549 (approx Rs. 51,500). We cannot be sure of their India pricing, until the company officially reveal the phones.
