Lava Launches Metal 24 for Rs 2,000
Lava has made this move as feature phones still form an important part of our lives and they are used regularly by a lot of people in the country.
Since the company's inception in 2009, Lava International Limited has been one of the leading Indian multinational companies in the mobile handset industry today. According to Lava, the brand has grown popular among many people and has in fact become one of the fastest growing handset companies in India.
While the company has been expanding, it has rolled out many feature phones as well smartphones in the past. Their flagship products being the Lava V5 and Iris X9 series were launched at a time when smartphones were growing in popularity.

However, considering the Indian market, even though people have been accustomed to using smartphones, there is still a large market for feature phones because a majority of the Indian population still use these phones.
Correspondingly, in order to tap into the existing feature phone market, Lava today has introduced the Lava Metal 24, which is an expansion of its 'Metal series' of feature phones.
The key highlights of the phone are its full metal body and dual SIM support. The device has been priced at Rs 2,000 and the feature phone will be available across retail stores and multi-brand outlets across India.

As for the specifications, the Lava Meta 24 has a 2.4-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) display. It is equipped with an MTK6261D processor and supports memory expansion up to 32GB using a microSD card. The phone has a 1.3-megapixel rear camera with flash which supports video recording as well. Powering the Lava Metal 24 is a 1000mAh Li-on battery which will be sufficient for the phone users.
Additionally, the phone has an FM feature with recording option and a 3.5 mm audio jack port. The handset has preloaded game apps like 'Snake' and 'Need for Speed' which we might be familiar with. Other features include Bluetooth 3.0, Internet browsing (EDGE), and USB-PC port.
The device also comes with a manufacturer warranty for one year, along with six-month warranty for the in-box accessories that include the battery, headset, charger and a USB Cable.
Lava Metal 24 will be made available in Gunmetal and Black color variants.

Given that the smartphones with 4G VoLTE support are being launched in the sub-Rs. 5,000 price range, will there be many users interested in buying this new feature phone remains a big question.
