Earlier this month, there was a report indicating that Google and Indian smatphone vendor Lava will launch the next generation Android One smartphone in India on July 14. The launch, however, did not happen. Now, Lava sent out invite highlighting ‘1' on it, for an event scheduled to happen on July 27.
Lava invite teases us by saying ‘Witness the power of 1' on the invite photo, clearly hinting new Android One device next week. The 1 in the photo comprises of hints to the features on upcoming phone. It says that the upcoming phone will be ‘the One that will never fade out', indicating that it will get software support for Android Updates from Google, just like other Android One smartphones. It also mentions that the phone will ‘respect your privacy', ‘keep you powered longer', and ‘help you create memories', highlighting privacy mode, powerful battery and camera on the phone.
Recently, an unannounced Lava smartphone called Iris X5 4G appeared in the GFX Benchmark database. Rumors have it that this could be the upcoming Android One device, though it could be just another phone from the company.
We eagerly wait for the company to unveil the anonymous smartphone at the forthcoming event, and will update you bit by bit about the product.
