In Pictures: Lava V5 Launched with 13MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor, 8MP Selfie Snapper at Rs 11,499
Lava V5 4G LTE, the latest camera centric smartphone from the home grown brand was launched today at a price of Rs 11,499. According to Lava Mobiles, the smartphone is aimed to deliver the great photography experience for users thanks to the presence of a Samsung 3M2 ISOCELL sensor.
The Lava V5 comes with a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood the mid-range smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core Mediatek 6753 SoC and 3GB RAM. This is clubbed with 16GB of storage along with a slot for memory expansion upto 32GB.

Now coming to the camera, the Lava V5 4G LTE comes packed with features. The 13MP f/2.0 rear camera comes equipped with a Largan 5P lens with Blue Glass Filter apart from the Samsung 3M2 ISOCELL sensor. The camera also comes with a PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus Sensor) which enables the V5 to autofocus onto a subject in just 0.18 secs.
Lava V5 4G LTE will also drive selfie lovers happy, as it comes with an 8MP f/2.2 aperture front camera. The selfie shooter can click 84 degree wide angle shots and is clubbed with a LED Flash. In addition to this the smartphone comes with Lava's MagicPix software which offers modes such as Beauty-fi for enhancing photographs, Pic Focus (focuses on an images and blurs the background), Wide Selfie (panoramic selfie mode), Night Pro, GIF maker, Intelligent selfie and Multi Angle View.
Commenting on the launch of the Lava V5 4G LTE, Mr Navin Chawla, CEO, Lava International Limited said, "The growth in the smartphone category in India is being driven primarily by the youth. With smartphones becoming an indispensable part of their lives, the camera becomes so much more important. Smartphones are now their primary camera device, they want to capture life on the go, and this device allows them to do exactly that and captures perfect shots."

The Lava V5 4G LTE runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 (upgradable to Marshmallow) and will go on sale in India starting today via an exclusive online partnership with eBay. It will soon be available offline via major retail stores across the country.
Besides that Lava announced their plans to launch around 7-8 4G device during the first quarter of 2016. Just to recall another home grown brand Micromax too, is revamping their existing smartphone lineup with 4G enable products.
