According to a new leak a working prototype of a large screen Windows phone was leaked today. This is none other than a phone developed by Microsoft itself i.e. a Lumia series smartphone.
The new leak corresponds to the previous leaks which we at Gizbot have been hearing every now and then. The Redmond giant despite launching the Windows 10 for PC on the 29th of July, hasn't spoken a word on the release date of Windows 10 Mobile. Recently though an insider leak suggested that the company is in process of releasing the OS on September this year. But for that they need a few flashy top of the line devices. And the leaked Windows phone might be the testimony to that.
In fact a rumour of Microsoft launching to Window 10 flagship devices are floating around for quite a while. Tech analyst at Gizbot believe that this leak image of a prototype device is among those two code previous leaked device codenamed Lumia Talkman & Lumia Cityman respectively.
Plus we also know that the devices will be dubbed the Lumia 940 and 940XL respectively. A few though claim something different. According to them Microsoft may totally skip the 940 series, and instead call these devices the 950 and 950XL. Let's not delve further into the naming as of now.
The source claims that the leaked smartphone will come with a 6 inch Quad HD (2560x1440) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC coupled with a 3GB of RAM. No details on the internal storage is available as of yet. But it claims that the device will come with 32GB of Memory Expansion via Micro SD card slot.
On the back is 20.7MP Pureview Lumia camera with a triple LED flash. The images also indicate at a USB Type C port. Most of the leaked specs go with the leaks that had surfaced previously. Only discrepancy is the screen size - while the previous leak hints at 5.7 inch display, this new one claims that the device will boast a 6 inch one.
