The smartphone has been in the news for a while now and various leaks confirmed complete specifications of the smartphone. Earlier this month, the phone maker's vice president Li Nan confirmed that the smartphone will be called as Meizu Pro 7.
However, a recent leak surfaced online states that the Pro 7 is a different smartphone and Meizu will soon launch a handset called as Meizu Pro 6s, which is essentially an upgrade to last year's Pro 6.
Furthermore, Pan Jiutang, one of the famous analyst also suggested the same and the smartphone will be called as Pro 6s. The analyst also revealed some of the details regarding the smartphone and they are in-line with the earlier leaked specifications.
Major Design Overhaul
As we reported in our previous roundup of the smartphone, the Meizu Pro 6s/7 will arrive with major design overhaul from previous Meizu devices. One of the major design change will be the removal of prominent antenna bands on the back of handset. Meizu might follow the same design language of the Apple iPhone
Samsung Exynos 8890 SoC
On-par with previous leaks, the analyst suggested that the phone-maker will be using the Samsung Exynos 8890 processor on their upcoming smartphone.
Along with the chipset, the smartphone might pack 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expandable with the help of microSD card.
No Curved Edge Display
As per the analyst, there will be only one variant of the smartphone and it will come with a 5.7-inch 2K display. Also, he confirmed that there won't be any curved display smartphone this time around, but Meizu might release another smartphone by the end of this year, which might come with a curved edge display and will be called as Meizu Pro 7.
12MP Rear Camera and 5MP Front-facing Camera
The Meizu Pro 6s might feature a 12MP rear camera along with support for PDAF and dual tone LED flash. Also, the front-facing camera is limited to just 5MP.
Flyme OS 6
Prior to this leak, there was a rumor saying that Meizu is testing Flyme OS 6.0 internally based on Android 7.0 Nougat. But, a leaked screenshot of the smartphone suggests that Meizu is testing the new Flyme OS with the Pro 6s itself. Strangely, the OS is still based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow as per the image
