Meizu adds fuel to the rumors around its August 10 launch event by releasing a teaser announcing an event slated for the date. At the upcoming event, the company is all set to unveil a new high-end smartphone under its new Meizu E series.
The Chinese smartphone company is reportedly working on new Meizu E series, featuring new line of high-end smartphones. The new series could be the company's new range of smartphones, different from its flagship level PRO series.
Though nothing is confirmed about the series or the phone as yet, previous reports and leaks have hinted towards the Meizu E series under works. It is expected that the first phone under the series will boast a Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset, which is considered equally potent as the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset.
If we go by rumors, the smartphone under Meizu E series would feature a curved dual edge display, just like the Samsung's edge display smartphone. The device is also rumored to feature a dual-camera set up at the rear, another first in the Meizu's product line. If the rumors turn out true, this upcoming smartphone could turn out to be the company's most premium flagship of the year.
Other features in the phone are expected to be a fingerprint scanner embedded in the on-screen home key.
With the dual-camera set up the company will be pitting against the likes of Xiaomi and Huawei brands, which already have unveiled dual camera based smartphone. Moreover the curved edged display paired with the dual-camera set up will give the company a break from design and specs monotony, and will make it more competitive.
That's all that we know about the Meizu E series smartphone as of now. We expect more information to come up about the device ahead of its launch on August 10.
