Desi handset manufacturer, Micromax has launched its new smartphone under its very famous Canvas series in the Indian market today at an event in New Delhi.
Dubbed as Canvas 5, this device comes with a feature called Content Adaptive Backlight Control, which in short abbreviated as CABC, helps in managing the power as per the environment light.
This device comes with metal rim running around and a leather-like back cover, which is new try in the Micromax mobile line-up.
The Micromax Canvas 5, sports a 5.2-inch IPS full lamination display with 1920x1080 pixels, which is translated into 423ppi and 450 nits brightness alongside of 2.5D arc glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Moving on to the hardware, this device is clocked at 1.3GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor along with 450MHz Mali-T720 MP2 as GPU besides 3GB RAM under the hood.
On the storage, the Canvas 5 is equipped with 16GB of inbuilt memory, with an expansion option of up to 64GB via microSD card.
The imaging factor is taken care by a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and 5MP front camera with flash. Talking about the software, this device is shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. As of now, there is no information available about the Android 6.0 updates.
Further, the connectivity option includes usual 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. Also, the above hardware is juiced with a 2900mAh battery under the hood.
The Micromax Canvas 5 comes in Black color variant with metal frame and Tan color with golden frame at a price of Rs. 11,999. It will sell through all retail channels including online and offline stores.
