India's leading smartphone company, Micromax is prepping up to launch new devices in an upcoming event that is planned for September 15, in Delhi. At this event, the company is expected to unveil new 4G LTE budget smartphones and might make announcements related to the company's other range of products that include Tablets, PCs and Televisions.
Vineet Taneja, CEO Micromax Informatics recently announced recently at an event that the company is set to launch 8 new 4G LTE compatible budget smartphones by the year end. Out of these, three have been planned for this month itself, while the rest will be launched by Diwali. All of these phones will be targeted at the budget conscious consumers, hence will be priced under Rs 10,000.
Gizbot has come to know about the upcoming event through its sources, and Micromax is yet to send out an invite for the same.
Earlier this month, Micromax introduced its fourth 4G LTE smartphone, the Canvas Fire 4G. The company has not revealed its price, but going by its specifications that include a 4.5 inch IPS Display, 1GHz quad-core MT6735M Processor, 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 8GB of inbuilt memory, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and 4G support on both TDD-LTE and FD-LTE bands, the phone is likely to be priced around Rs 6,000 in India.
With the Chinese smartphone players, along with other new entrants to smartphone market in India, the competition in the 4G smartphone segment is growing fast, and tough. These international smartphone vendors have come up with 4G LTE smartphone with attractive features as well as price. In this case, Micromax does not want to be left behind in 4G smartphone market, which will grow well considering that after Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone too are going to launch their 4G services in India by this year's end.
