The Surface Phone will be Microsoft's business flagship smartphone, the one that combines the Windows interface and carries several features of the Windows OS onto a phone. Microsoft is trying to compete with Google and Apple in the race for introducing high end flagship phones that are targetted at business and enterprise users given Microsoft's Office ecosystem. The phones are modeled around the Microsoft Office productivity apps rather than high end specs. While Microsoft still lacks several features and still trails behind Apple and Android on several other fronts, the tech giant is trying hard to improve its app ecosystem and deliver an unmatched experience.

Rumours afloat in the tech industry suggest that the Snapdragon 820 will remain Microsoft's newest chipset. Microsoft is all set to revv up the Windows phones and plans to release two powerful flagship phones by next year that are likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapragon 820 chipset and Adreno 530 graphics.

However, it looks like Microsoft could take it own time to release the flagship phones as tech industry sources say that the two flagship phones from Microsoft could take another year from now on to release its high end Flagsip devices.

Microsoft is likely to release details about the phones in may be the coming months. While it is unlikely to beat Android or Apple when it comes to the app ecosystem, we can only expect things to get better with the Windows phones.
