Microsoft Lumia 550 vs Best Budget Alternative Smartphones

At their Window 10 event in San Francisco, the Redmond giant Microsoft silently launched a budget Windows phones dubbed the Lumia 550.

However the budget device failed to gain much spotlight thanks to the presence of heavy weights - 950 and 950XL - at the event. Nevertheless the Lumia 550 comes with a Windows 10 Mobile on top along with a 1.1GHz quad core Snapdragon 210 SoC under the hood.

On the rear is a 5MP AF camera along with a 2MP FF on the front. Microsoft haven't unveiled the pricing of the device yet. However a Zauba import listing quotes a price of Rs 8,999 (approx.) for each of the test units.

But does it device has enough under the hood justify is high price tag? You, may be thinking that yes it does - after all it runs the latest Windows 10. But, Gizbot begs to differ. In fact there are a number of powerful alternatives which you can readily buy in India this festive season. So why wait for the Lumia 550?
