11 smartphones to be Daydream VR ready this year, says Google
More smartphones to get the Daydream VR support.
Back in the last year, Google revealed the Daydream View VR headset. On the release of the headset, only a handful of Android devices including Google Pixel and Pixel XL were launched with the support for this feature.
Now, it looks more smartphones will offer the Daydream support soon. Google has announced that 11 Android smartphones will be Daydream ready by the end of this year. The same was announced by Sundar Pichai, the Google CEO during the latest earnings call of Alphabet, the parent company of Google.
As of now, a slew of Android devices including the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Asus ZenFone AR, ZTE Axon 7, Moto Z, Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 9 support the Google Daydream VR. By the end of this year, 11 more smartphones will join the lineup. According to Google, even the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will also receive the Daydream support. Also, an upcoming LG smartphone is also believed to get the mobile VR platform from Google. Maybe, it could be the LG V30 that is slated to be launched in the coming months.
Earlier this month, the Asus ZenFone AR, the first smartphone supporting both Google Daydream VR and Google Tango AR technologies was launched in India at a price of Rs. 49,999. Also, Google announced the launch of the Daydream View VR Headset in the market at a price of Rs. 6,499. The Daydream View headset is available via the online retailer Flipkart exclusively in the country.
