Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play to sport 18:9 aspect ratio display
Moto G6 series to comprise of three full-screen smartphones for this year.
We already know that Lenovo-owned Motorola is prepping to launch three smartphones in the G series this year. Well, the rumored devices in the making are the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play. While we expect a mid-2018 announcement of these devices, it looks like a juicy information about the display of these smartphones has started making the rounds on the internet.
A report by mobielkopen has come up with a screenshot of the HTML5 test of these smartphones. Also, these devices have received the Wi-Fi Alliance certification too. While the Wi-Fi Alliance certification has revealed the model number of these upcoming Moto smartphones, the HTML5 test screenshot has tipped that these smartphones will embrace the full-screen design with 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Wi-Fi Alliance certification shows that one of the models listed with the model number XT1922-1 could be the Moto G6 Play. It is believed that all the smartphones will run Android Oreo out of the box. The Moto G6 Play is likely to make use of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC paired with Adreno 505 GPU. The other two models are said to have the model numbers XT1944-1 and XT1924-1. These are the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus and are likely to use the quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC and Adreno 308 GPU.
Talking about the HTML5 benchmark test, it reveals that the three Moto smartphones are listed to have 360 x 720 pixel resolution that could be due to an error. The aspect ratio is shown to be 18:9. This tips that the resolution of the Moto G6 lineup of smartphones could be FHD+ 1080 x 2160 pixels. Also, the screen size of the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play are said to be 5.7 inches, 6 inches and 5.7 inches respectively.
From the previous rumors, we can expect all the three upcoming Motorola smartphones to feature a dual camera setup at their rear. However, the camera features and resolution are not known for now. From the recently leaked Moto E5 Play renders, we can expect the Motorola smartphones to be announced sometime April this year as the clock widget on the home screen showed the date as April 3.
