Motorola Might Launch Moto Z Play on September 6: Here Are Top 7 Specifications Leaked Till Date

The Motorola Moto Z Play has been in the news for a while now. After the release of Moto Z and Moto Z Force, Motorola has been working on a smaller variant of the Moto Z smartphones with support for the Moto Mods.

We have already seen numerous leaks about the smartphone which apparently confirmed the full specifications of the smartphone. In the first week of August, the smartphone was certified by the Chinese TENAA and Bluetooth SIG and in the same week, a couple of real life images of the smartphone were spotted online.

And yesterday, a user of Weibo captured a picture of a Chinese Store which shows a picture of Moto Z Play and its mods. This confirms the smartphone might be releasing soon.

Earlier rumors also leaked the complete specifications of the smartphone. Here are the top five leaked specifications of the smartphone.

5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED Screen

The Moto Z Play will feature a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 which further results in a pixel density of 401 PPI. Motorola might protect the screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Technology.

Snapdragon 625 Chipset and Adreno 506 GPU

Motorola might embed a Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood which is an octa-core chipset with all the cores might clock at 2.0GHz. Also, there will be an Adreno 506 GPU to power up the graphic intensive tasks.

3GB of RAM Along With 64GB of onboard storage

The Moto Z Play might feature 3GB of RAM to take up the system operations and 64GB of internal storage. As of now, it is still unknown whether Motorola planning to launch another variant of the smartphone. Also, the internal storage can't be expanded.

16MP Rear Camera and 5MP Front-facing shooter

Surely, Motorola will go with a 16MP shooter on the rear and an 8MP shooter on the front. This year's Motorola smartphones did well in terms of camera performance and the Moto Z Play will not be an exception when it goes official.

The 3.5mm Audio Jack is Back!

This the most interesting leak of all. Motorola ditched the 3.5mm audio jack port in the Moto Z and Moto Z Force in favor of the USB Type-C audio port.

The trend isn't continuing with the Moto Z Play as leaked images clearly shown the presence of 3.5mm audio port.

 

Bigger Battery and Android Marshmallow

As per TENAA listing, the Moto Z Play might feature a bigger battery and the battery capacity lies somewhere between 3,300mAh and 3,510mAh.

Also, the smartphone is running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow when it visited TENAA and it might release with Marshmallow itself and will be updated to Android N later on.

 

Release Date and Pricing

According to the Twitter user, The Malignant, the Moto Z Play might be released on September 6 with the pricing between $400 (approx. Rs. 27,000) and $500 (approx. Rs. 33,500).
