OnePlus X Rumour Roundup: Specs, Price Release Date and More
After the launch of the OnePlus 2 two months back, the Chinese OEM is now gearing up to launch its first mid-range device till date. Expected to release this fall, the alleged device dubbed OnePlus X made an early appearance at TENAA today.
However, the device isn't what most were hoping for. So what's changed on the inside? Let's find out.
Sports a Dual Glass Body
Unlike what most would have hoped for, the OnePlus X spotted on TENAA sports a Dual Glass Body. It seems like OnePlus has takes design cues from Sony and Gionne. Rather the OnePlus X looks rather remniscent of the Gionee Elife S7.
Metal Side Profile
As expected that OnePlus X bears the metal rim which was seen on the OnePlus 2. The presence of metal gives a premium feel to the device.
5 inch Full HD display
On the front of the OnePlus X is a 5inch display according to TENAA listing. The Chinese Certification listing however doesn't give much details regarding the resolution of display used. However if the Antutu and GeekBench listing of the OnePlus X are to be believed, the 5 inch display comes with a Full HD panel.
Snapdragon 801/Mediatek 6795T
This is an area of confusion. So far the OnePlus X was seen touting two different SoC in Antutu Benchmark. First the alleged device was seen sporting a MediateK X10 Helio octa core (6795T) SoC with Malit T760 GPU and achieved of score of around 54,000. Next came a version sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (same as the OnePlus One).
Hence it still not clear whether the device that will be launched in India will come with the MediaTek SoC under the hood
2GB RAM
Irrespective of the Snapdragon and MediaTek variant the OnePlus X was seen touting a 2GB of RAM in Antutu and GeekBench.
Alert Slider
Just like the one seen in the OnePlus 2, the One Plus X features an intuitive notifications slider on the side profile. Dubbed the Alert Slider, it will allow you to change the type of notifications which you would like to see in a given time.
13MP AutoFocus Rear camera
On the rear of the glass back is a 13MP AutoFocus Unit possibly sourced for Sony. It is of belief that the device uses the same sensor as found in the OnePlus One. However threre's no laser AutoFocus sensor.
5MP Selfie Camera
As per previous reports the OnePlus X sports a 5MP Selfie Camera on the front which can shoot HD videos.
Oxygen OS
Just like the OnePlus 2 the OnePlus X is also expected to run on the company iteration of Android dubbed the Oxygen OS. It is a near similar implementation of the CyanogenMod. As expected the device runs on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1.1.
Price
According to OnePlus India General Manager the OnePlus X will be priced between Rs 12,000 - Rs 18,000 in India.
