OnePlus Releases Android Marshmallow Update Schedule for OnePlus Devices

OnePlus has officially announced the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roll out schedule to its devices.

"Many of you have been wondering about Android M and when exactly it's coming to your OnePlus device. Although we don't want to promise specific dates yet, we want to share some more detailed answers with you today," said Carl, OnePlus forum administrator.

OnePlus has confirmed that their former software partner, Cyanogen will provide the Marshmallow update to the OnePlus One smartphone in the first quarter of 2016. However, the update based on OxygenOS for the OnePlus One will be released later.

The latest flagship OnePlus 2 will get the Android Marshmallow update with API for the fingerprint sensor by the first quarter of 2016.

While, for the OnePlus X, the company said will bring the Marshmallow update as soon as possible to the OnePlus X, however, there is no exact date when the update will arrive to the smartphone.

It is worth mentioning that the Android Marshmallow included a native support for fingerprint sensor, Now on Tap, new security features, support for new contextual assistance feature, and much more.
