Chinese smartphone vendor Oppo is all set to launch its new smartphone in India on September 2. The company has rolled out invites for an event scheduled for the said date in Delhi, India, where it will most likely unveil its recently announced Oppo R7 and R7 Plus smartphones.
Though the invite does not mention the name of any specific product that the company will introduce at the event, it flashes the number seven and comes with a tagline saying ‘Redefine Style with metal.' Both of the clues hint that the launch of Oppo R7 and its bigger variant R7 Plus is imminent.
The R7 and R7 Plus are the company's recently announced mid-range smartphones that flaunts brushed metal chassis and pack in an attractive set of specifications.
Speaking of the specs in detail, the Oppo R7 features a 5-inch full HD display with 1920x1080pixels resolution, and is powered by Snapdragon 615 Octa-core 64-bit chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded by up to a massive 128GB on a microSD card. In the camera department, the phone boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture, and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper.
On the other hand, the Oppo R7 Plus, as its name suggests, is a larger and bumped up variant of the R7 model. The phone features a 6-inch full HD display offering 1920x1080pixels resolution, with pixel density of 365PPI. The phone is powered by the same chipset as is used on R7, with 3GB of RAM, but gets double the internal storage that is available on its dwarf variant.So you get 32GB of inbuilt storage. This also feature an advanced 13-megapixel Sony IMX278 camera with Laser auto-focus, f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. The front adorns an 8-megapixel selfie camera. In addition to that, the phone also flaunts features like a fingerprint sensor that is placed alongside camera on the rear panel, and a bigger battery of 4100mAh capacity.
Connectivity options in both the phones include dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, micro-USB and GPS/AGPS. Speaking of software, these smartphones run Android 5.0 Lollipop-based ColorOS v2.1 UI out of the box.
In China, the company launched the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus for ¥2499 which translates to approximately Rs 25,700 and ¥2999 that is about Rs 30,850 respectively. As for their availability in India, Oppo is likely to launch these phone on both online and offline retail channels, though nothing can be confirmed.
