But, last month it was rumored that, the company is planning to release a smartphone sometime this fall, which will be powered by a widely-used Android operating system. BlackBerry Passport: Running Android Lollipop
A BlackBerry developer tweeted an image of BlackBerry Passport running Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The leaked image shows the 'About Phone' screen in the BlackBerry Passport smartphone, displaying Android version and model number of the device. The phone's model is denoted as BlackBerry Passport SQW-ANDS.
BlackBerry Prague: The First Android Smartphone
Rumors suggests that the BlackBerry Prague might be the first Android smartphone by the company and is expected to launch sometime in August. The Prague will enter the low-end market segment and will feature all touch form factor similar to the Z3.
BlackBerry Android Phone: Concept Design
Deviant Art member has come up with a concept design of BlackBerry smartphone running on Android platform. The concept design is actually quite familiar to the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. The images clearly shows that some of the BlackBerry OS elements are still exists like, BBM app, multi-tasking with live thumbnails and notification.
BlackBerry Android Phone: Leaked Image
The @evleaks has tweeted a new image of the rumored Android-powered BlackBerry. The device in the image doesn't look like a slider and neither like the Z3 smartphone. Instead, it resembles the BlackBerry Passport, which sports a 3-row keyboard.
BlackBerry Venice: Leaked Image
BlackBerry Venice is said to be a high-end smartphone with a slider form factor. Again, the @evleaks has twitted a press render image of the smartphone. The device in the leaked image looks very stylish and shows the bottom side of the BlackBerry Venice featuring a microUSB port along with a 3.5mm audio jack port.
