Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+: 5 Best And 5 Worst Features Of The Curved Display Smartphone

Just a few days after the global unveiling of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, the company launched the smartphone in the Indian market. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will go on sale in India starting August 28 and has priced at a very price point of Rs. 57,900.

The smartphone has been improved in many things including the battery backup, wireless charging, processor and RAM. Moreover, the S6 Edge+ comes with new features like Sidesync, Quick Launch, and more. The smartphone is all set to to directly rival the Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ sports a 5.7 inch dual-curve Super AMOLED display at 518ppi. It is powered by Octa-Core Exynos 7420 processor with 4x Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz and 4x Cortex-A57 at 2.1GHz with Mali-T760MP8 GPU besides 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and will be shipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on top of latest TouchWiz UI.

Samsung is one among those smartphone makers, who built outstanding display for their handsets. The Gaalxy S6 Edge+ also sports a stunning and bigger 5.7 inch Super AMOLED QHD display at a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels with a pixel density of 551ppi. The display has a curved edge on both sides and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

The original Galaxy S6 Edge came with a great camera experience and the S6 Edge+ has the same camera setup. The smartphone comes with a 16 megapixel primary camera with (OIS) Optical Image Stabilization and has a great low light sensitivity. The camera interface in the S6 Edge+ is simple, quick and allows you to take pictures faster and accurately.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is packed with a bigger 3000mAh capacity battery, which is 400mAh more than the original Galaxy Edge's 2600mAh battery. Additionally, the phone comes with Fast Charging technology which reduces the charging time to about 90 minutes.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with wireless charging support for which the company has launched its wireless charger accessory, which looks identical to the one that was launched with the S6 Edge. However, Samsung claims that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ can get wirelessly charged in 120 minute.

One of the essential features of all bigger screen smartphone is a features like one-handed usability, where you can access all the apps and use the smartphone in one hand. Thankfully, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is packed with an additional features called one-handed usability, which helps you to manage the bigger screen. You can adjust the scree for one-handed operation mode. It shrinks the screen down to left or right side of the display, so that you can easily reach all the apps on the screen using the same hand while holding the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with a bigger 3000mAh battery that is quite enough to just the smartphone for an entire day. But, the battery is not removable, which means users will not have the chance to swipe the battery when required.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is available in two storage variant including 32GB and 64GB. Unfortunately, the smartphone lacks the MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage.

The curved edges combined with glass and metal chassis give it a classy look and sturdy feel to the smartphone. But with the glass back, it feel uncomfortable to hold in one hand.

IR Blaster is one features that is somewhat considered as a must have features for the premium smartphones. The IR Blaster or the Infrared Blaster, that emulates an infrared remote control to control devices that are normally controlled by a remote key. Many people love to use their smartphone as a remote. However the Galaxy S6 Edge+ doesn't come with IR Blaster.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is available in two premium colors Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. Samsung has also come up with several accessories including Clear View cover for Rs. 299 and other variety of shells, a new wireless charging pack (priced Rs 3,599) and a Keyboard cover which looks pretty interesting however is priced for Rs. 4,499. You may get disappointed to know that none of these has been bundled with the phone.
