Samsung is all set to update its Galaxy Star product line of budget smartphones. It has started sending out invites for an event to be held on July 16 in Delhi, wherein it will announce new Galaxy Star smartphones, including Galaxy Star 3 among others.
Samsung has not exactly mentioned about the details of the smartphones that it would be launching at the event, but has teased the launch of new Galaxy Stars by saying "Unveiling of the latest stars in the Galaxy Series."
The company's Galaxy Star series is essentially meant for budget-conscious customers, and is it's take on the local as well as Chinese smartphone OEMs that presently rule this price range.
Last year, it introduced Samsung Galaxy Star 2 and Galaxy Star Advance, priced at Rs 5,100 and Rs 7,400 respectively. These phones were based on Android's Kitkat iteration, and came with support for 12 Indian regional languages. At the time of their launch, the company partnered with Vodafone to bundle data plans with these phones.
As for features, the Galaxy Star smartphones are usually low on specs and features, which go with their affordable prices.
