With Samsung targeting to make an impact in the SoC vendor market, it is a wise decision by the company to use custom cores instead of ARM designed ones. As of now other than ARM only Intel, Qualcomm and AMD has custom designed core. In fact that the new move will help Samsung to drive better performance from their Exynos SoC and also optimize it as per the requirement of their smartphones.
