Top 12 smartphones and tablets to get launched in India in October 2015
This October, we are looking forward to see a slew of new smartphones and tablets, including the most awaited ones, making their way to India. After all, it is festival season and the best time for companies to come up with their new products to make the best of the season.
In September, many top OEMs globally unveiled their much awaited smartphones, tablets and wearables. Moreover, we witnessed multiple new announcements at the recently concluded IFA event in Berlin. Now, top brands are setting up the stage to bring these devices to Indian shores. Besides top OEMs, domestic smartphone players are also excited about introducing their new smartphones and other devices to the market.
Here we pick twelve devices that we anticipate to get launched in India in October:
Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus have undoubtedly been amongst the most awaited smartphones of the year. Apple unveiled its refreshed iPhone models a few days back, and is gearing up to launch these in India on October 16. If you are planning to buy the new iPhone, be ready to spend anything over 60K, as these are expected to be launched at higher price than last year iPhone models.
New gen iPads, and iPad Pro
This year, along with the launch of the new iPhones, iPads Apple unveiled its biggest ever iPad, dubbed as the iPad Pro, which flaunts a 12.9-inch display. The iPad Pro seems to be a giant version of the iPads we have used, but has more powerful innards which put it on par with iMac and other desktop level devices. Moreover, it brings whole new set of features and applications that understand touch-based inputs, as well as stylus functionality.
Microsoft Lumia 950, 950XL, and 550 smartphones, Surface Pro 4 tablet and Band 2
Microsoft is hosting a massive event on Oct 6, where it is expected to unveil new Lumia smartphones, including the Lumia 950, 950XL, and 550 smartphones, its new generation Surface tablets, the Band 2, and a slimmer Xbox console. Considering that India is an important market for the company, we expect the devices to arrive to India sometime later this month.
Gionee Elife E8
Gionee in India has rolled out invite for an event to be hosted on Oct 8, where it will be launching its flagship Elife E8 smartphone, which it first unveiled in China Back in June. The smartphone boasts a 24MP rear camera, and has a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera.
Huawei Honor 7
Huawei may not have yet made any official announcement around the launch of its flagship Honor 7 smartphone, however the phone is on its way to get launched in India sooner than later. The company will most likely be announcing the phone on Oct 6-7. The phone is loaded with powerful specs, and features a fingerprint scanner.
OnePlus 2 Mini
Rumors are rife that OnePlus is working on a mini variant of the recently launched OnePlus 2 smartphone. The global announcement of the phone is expected in a few days, which will most likely be followed by its India launch. As for its specs, the phone is expected to feature Helio X10 SoC, 2GB RAM and 13MP camera.

Motorola Moto X Style
Last month, the Lenovo owned company, Motorola, launched the Moto X Play in India, with price starting price from Rs 18,499. Now the company has hinted the launch of the Moto X Style in their official social accounts in India. Moto X Style is the bigger siblings of the Moto family with a 5.7-inch QHD display, and features Snapdragon 808 hexa core SoC, 3GB of RAM, and a 21MP rear snapper.

Google Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X
Just about a few days back, Google unveiled the much talked about Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X smartphones, which are the successor of the last year launched Motorola Nexus 6 and the previously launched LG Nexus 5 (2013) smartphones. The new Nexus smartphones bring 12.3MP primary snappers, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. As for their price and availability in India, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X phones have recently been spotted on Google Play Store India for Rs. 39,999, and Rs. 31,999 respectively, though their India prices have not been announced officially.

Yu Yutopia
Micromax's Yu brand has announced its next smartphone internally code named as Project Achilles, and to be launched as Yutopia. This smartphone has been teased by the YU's founder Rahul Sharma. It is expected to be the most powerful Yu smartphone and is believed to feature 5.2-inch display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, 21MP rear camera, and 8MP front snapper. The phone might come in a toned down, 3GB RAM variant with 1080p display.
LG V10
Consumer electronics giant, LG unveiled its new flagship V10 smartphone under new ‘V' series on October 1. We expect the company to launch this phone in India in October itself. As for its spec, the phone features a dual display with a secondary ticker screen above the 5.7-inch QHD screen, and dual 5MP-selfie cameras.

Sony Xperia Z5 series
Sony unveiled three new smartphones under its Xperia Z series at IFA, earlier in September. The phones, namely the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 Compact are likely to be launched in October in India.

Lenovo ZUK Z1
Lenovo's subsidiary brand called ZUK has been expected in India for a while now. Considering that now the company has started officially selling the ZUK Z1 in France and Spain, the phone might finally get announced in India this October. The phone features a 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB of RAM, 13MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary snapper.
