Have you ever wondered what happens if you place an Apple iPhone 7 in boiling hot water? Sure, it's IP67 certified, which means it's water, dust, and splash resistant, but will it be able to survive on subjecting it to extreme heat?
Well, Smart Technology - a YouTube channel exactly tested that. And you know what, nothing happened. The Apple iPhone 7 passed the test with flying colours.
In the video, the narrator from Smart Technology channel drops the iPhone 7 into a bowl of boiling water several times to see how the iPhone behaves when exposed to heat.
On his first attempt, he plays a video on the iPhone before dropping it into the water just to confirm the speakers work fine. After dropping it in, the sound from the handset was still audible until the phone became non-functional with the screen turning black.
In a minute, he removes the iPhone from water only to find out that it's unaffected with the iPhone returning to its normal condition.
He decides to drop the iPhone once again, but this time for longer durations of time. The narrator submerges the iPhone for a good 6 to 7 minutes, obviously, the screen goes black early, but no temperature warning shows up on the screen.
Eventually, when he takes the device out of the water, the iPhone screen throws a temperature warning message which reads "iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it."
After a while, to his surprise, the handset behaves normally as it would otherwise. All the functionalities such as the camera, volume and other settings work seamlessly as if nothing has happened.
