Earlier this month, at the Redmi Note 3 launch event Hugo Barra announced that its flagship smartphone Mi 5 will be available in India starting April. As promised, Xiaomi is launching the Mi 5 by the end of this month.

Xiaomi has sent out a press invite for the launch of its latest flagship smartphone - the Mi 5 in India on March 31. The smartphone was announced back in February at MWC 2016, Barcelona. Here is our first look of the Xiaomi Mi 5.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.15-inch Full HD display with a curved glass and has a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is powered by a latest Snapdragon 820 SoC Quad-Core processor along with Adreno 530 GPU.

The Mi 5 is available in two different storage options differentiated by RAM and internal storage. The 3GB RAM model has 32GB and 64GB internal storage and the 4GB RAM model comes with 128GB internal storage.

In the camera department, it flaunts a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 4-axis OIS, 4K video recording and 4-megapixel front camera with 80-degree wide angle lens.

Samsung

Samsung is all set to launch its next Galaxy smartphone in the Indian market on March 31. The teaser video #TapKickVroom hints that the smartphone will be geared almost exclusively towards bikers. The company claims that the upcoming phone will "change the way users ride."

Samsung has not disclosed the name of the upcoming smartphone. However, the invite says "The smartphone that will change the way you ride." According to our source, Samsung's next Galaxy smartphone will be a different price range as of the Xiaomi Mi 5, which is scheduled to launch on the same day.

Meanwhile, Samsung has recently launched its flagship the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India. The company has also brought the new A series in the Indian market, which was first showcased at Samsung Forum in Malaysia. Well, Samsung could announce smartphone under its J series in India on March 31, but we are not sure why Samsung is linking the smartphone with therider.

Smartron

Sachin Tendulkar, the most respected cricket player in the world, invests in a technology startup called Smartron. The company has sent out press invite scheduled for March 31, which reads "Smart Things for Life, Coming to You."

The event is going to happen on a very busy day, as key smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Samsung are holding an event to launch their latest smartphones in India. However, a new brand introduction is always interesting.

The invite hints that there will be a smartphone along with a tablet and we have almost no information about the upcoming devices from Smartron. The tablet in the invite features a rear camera and a kickstand.

According to the benchmark database the tablet to have a 13.7-inch display. The benchmark site has listed the device as Tron 5011 and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM and has Adreno 430GPU. The listing also says that the handset will have a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera.
