There's hardly an occasion when the spotlight is away from Xiaomi these day. After the launch of the highly anticipated MIUI 7 and the Redmi Note 2 amidst much fanfare, the Chinese company is again planning to refresh their existing Mi4i.
As you might be aware that the company is working on a refreshed device dubbed the Mi4c - in fact the device passed TENAA certification a few days back.
The upcoming device has now leaked in real life in none other than its box pack. The specs mentioned here directly corresponds to the one leaked via TENAA. The sticker on the back of the device confirms that the Xiaomi Mi4c will come with a Snapdragon 808 1.8GHz Hexa Core SoC with 2GB of RAM - a major upgrade in terms of SoC.
The display though will be carried over from the existing Mi4 - 5 inch Full HD (1920x1080) Sunlight display. Same can be told for the battery (3080mAh), cameras (13MP and 5MP). The box pack further specifies that the device will come with a USB Type C port.
The external footprint of the device will also be same as the one present in the Mi4. The device will come in 16GB and 32GB variants. The leaked image is of a 16GB variant though. The price is not known as of yet. But we expect Xiaomi to price it competitively when launched in a few months time. Expect a price of Yuan 1,399-1,499 (Rs 13,999-14,999).
This pricing would Xiaomi consolidate the mid-range. At present the Xiaomi Mi4 with Snapdragon 801 lies in the Rs 14,999 price bracket. Hence if priced in the same range, the Mi4c can be a fitting replacement to the aging Mi4.
