Xiaomi has brought down the price of the already cheap Redmi 2A today. The Chinese smartphone maker also launched an updated Fitness Tracker dubbed the Mi Pulse in China yesterday.

Xiaomi Redmi 2A 2GB RAM Edition receives a price cut

The Redmi 2A was first launched in China at the beginning of this year an in-house Leadcore SoC and 1GB of RAM. The device apparently looked similar to the Redmi 2 but housed only 1GB of RAM. However Xiaomi soon realised their mistake and doubled the RAM on both the device (Redmi 2 and Redmi 2A).

Xiaomi has now priced the Redmi 2A 2GB edition at just 499 Yuan (Rs4, 999 approx.) The reduced price will be applicable from 11th of November which is apparently celebrated as the singles day in China.

The 2GB RAM edition of the Redmi 2A also comes with 16GB of internal storage (up from 8GB). Once the price cut is effective the Redmi 2A 2GB edition will fall in direct competition with the 1GB edition of the device. Hence expect Xiaomi to give the 1GB edition a price cut too.

For those who are planning to get a Redmi 2A imported from China, let's warn you to wait a while before ordering the device from resellers in the country. The resellers will only pass on the price cut benefit after a few weeks.
