This August seems to be a hectic month for the techies, with two back to back launches of the tech giants. While the South Korean giant Samsung is set to launch the flagship model Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Edge S6 Plus in the Samsung Unpacked event on August 13th, the Chinese handset maker is also planning to release its Redmi Note 2 on August 16th.
According to Mr. Tony, Marketing manager, Xiaomi in his Weibo account, posted "Do not wait so long to see the side, right? 816 See Beijing."
That was followed by another post from IHS Technology Director Wang Yang. Referring to the previous comment, Yang wrote, "Qiazhiyisuan, debut of the Redmi Note 2.″
As per the above statement, the company will be holding an event in Beijing on the 16th of this month, which may be a press meet or a launch of the mobile.
Moreover, the Redmi Note 2 was certified in TEENA agency revealing the specs including 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 resolution (FHD) screen, 2GHz Octa-Core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP/5MP camera, 3020mAh battery, Android 5.0 is pre-installed with Xiaomi's own MIUI skin running on top.
