ZTE announced the launch of the international version of the ZTE Axon Elite, at IFA 2015. The ZTE Axon Elite is the company's new global flagship smartphone, under its Axon line up of premium smartphones. The phone is already available in the US and China and will go on sale in markets across Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific in the coming months.
"After two successful launches in the U.S. and China, we are delighted to continue the global rollout of Axon with this latest version for Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific," said Adam Zeng, CEO, ZTE Mobile Devices. "Axon is the start of big and bold things for ZTE, and we will continue to evolve our Axon flagship line to align with our global strategies", added Zeng.
As for its specs and features, one of the key features of The ZTE Axon Elite phone is that it can be unlocked with three different biometric authentication options - fingerprint, voice control and eye-scanner. The phone features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 401 ppi, and Corning's Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass for protection against damages. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 octa-core chipset with dual quad-cores, and 64-bit computing, coupled with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded to an extra 128GB with a microSD card.
The phone sports a 13-megapixel rear Duo-camera with dual-flash and auto-focus, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with Haptic feedback feature, and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/AGPS.
The Axon Elite will first go on sale online via eBay for France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom on 24 September, for a price of 419.99 Euros, translating to close to Rs 31,100. There is no specific detail given for its launch in India.
