ZTE Axon Elite 4G with SD810, Dual Camera Setup and Retina Scanner available for pre-sale at Rs 30,000
ZTE has been making some noise this year. First came the near bezel less Nubia Z9 with an intuitive bezel edged interface and now it's time for the Axon. In case you are unaware Axon is sub brand of ZTE which was launched specifically keeping America and European markets in mind. Rather the Axon series of smartphones first debuted in the west i.e. America a few months back.
However ZTE wants to expand their Axon brand to foreign markets soon enough and thus comes the ZTE Axon Elite. The Chinese OEM brought their new device to the IFA this year a few weeks back. ZTE Axon Elite is strikingly similar to the Elite Pro that was launched in the USA market. There are a few changes though.
On the exterior are two leather stitching on the top and bottom of the metallic back panel of the device. Further the QHD panel seen on the US edition has been brought down to Full HD and so is the RAM - which is now 3GB from the existing 4GB. Despite the cost cuttings one should be aware of the fact that the Axon Elite 4G International variant costs lower than the US Edition too.
At a price of just $469 the device is available for pre-sale at GearBest with an aluminum-magnesium alloy aircraft grade chassis. This is the same material as use by Xiaomi in their Piston 3.0 Headphone. On the front is a 5.5 inch Full HD LTPS display which produces beautiful colours with excellent viewing angles. There are two cut outs for speakers on two sides of the display on the front along with an 8MP selfie snapper.
Under hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. The USP of the ZTE Axon Elite however lies on the back of the device where it boasts of a dual rear camera setup - much like the HTC One M9. The sensors included a 13MP f1.8 Sony IMX214 unit along with a 2MP adjustable aperture (f1.0 to f8.0) from Omnivision. The secondary 2MP camera helps in increasing the depth of field i.e. you can generate those stunning DSLR bokeh effect.
ZTE has also beefed up the security of the device by including a Touch ID (on the back), Voice Unlock and the ever so hyped Retina Unlock! The Chinese OEM has also priced this device rather competitively and is now available for pre-sale on GearBest at just $469/Rs 30,000 with free international shipping. However you can buy it at a cheaper price of $449.89/ Rs 28,800 by using the coupon code ZTEAXON. We are waiting to get our hands on the device soon.
