Nokia to Announce Apple TV Look-Alike Hardware Today
Although, Microsoft might have taken down the Nokia branding from the Lumia smartphones, don't think that the Finnish giant is sitting idle. Perhaps, the teaser released by Nokia yesterday would explain things better. You can check out the image below to see what the company has teased.
Odd enough, you can hardly guess what is in the box or even what the box is. Somewhat it resembles like an Apple TV. Others would likely choose to think of it as a mini PC.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet blockquote" data-cards="hidden" lang="en"><p>Guess what? We’re up to something. <a href="http://t.co/AFq4dUFI9S">http://t.co/AFq4dUFI9S</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/thinkingahead?src=hash">#thinkingahead</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Slush14?src=hash">#Slush14</a> <a href="http://t.co/sqERYpz0Vc">pic.twitter.com/sqERYpz0Vc</a></p>— Nokia (@nokia) <a href="https://twitter.com/nokia/status/534345460333285377">November 17, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>But all these questions remain unanswered with no hints at all but a text that reads, "up to something" attached with the teaser. Also today's date is mentioned on the teaser meaning somewthing will happen today (18.11.14).
The date coincides with Finland's Slush Conference which is a congregation of Eurasian tech startups and tech investors which is held on Helsinki, Finland. Nokia's product business head Sebastian Nystrom, is set to unveil this product at 11.25 UTC which is around 5pm India time.
Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri reportedly said that the company had plans to come back to the consumer world, and it seems that today is D-day.
So lets see what the device is in fact. We are hoping it to be something like either Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon's Fire TV and Google Nexus Player or a mini PC.
GizBot will update you about the announcement in a short while.
