As the Asha smartphones are adding to the quarterly sales figures of the Finnish phone maker, Nokia recently added two new members to the lineup -- Asha 308 and Asha 309 in September. The dual SIM version out of the duo – Asha 308 hit the retail stores in October with a price tag of Rs 5,685, however, there was no information on Asha 309.
The Finnish handset maker seems to have released Asha 309 now and the handset is listed exclusively on the online retailer site – Infibeam with a price tag of Rs 5,999.
When it comes to specs, Asha 309 houses a 3 inch WQVGA capacitive multi-point touchscreen display with 400 x 240 pixel resolution, 800MHz processor, 2MP rear camera with fixed focus, 64MB internal memory, 128MB mass memory and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Further, the handset packs connectivity features including Bluetooth v3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and micro USB 2.0 and is loaded with a 1,110 mAh BL-4U battery delivering 6 hours talk time and 650 hours standby.
Likewise any other Asha smartphone, Asha 309 also comes with a plethora of freebies including 40 premium EA games, social features such as Facebook and Twitter, Nokia Messaging Service and video streaming through the browser from sites like YouTube.
Moreover, the handset comes with software features including Xpress Browser, which is claimed to offer twice the browsing speed at no extra cost and 90% more efficiency to mobile browsing as compared to normal browsers, Nokia Nearby, an application that helps users to discover what is around them even without the access to GPS, Nokia Maps and Nokia Life+.
