Nokia May Launch Asha 501 3G Variant in the Next Quarter

Nokia lifted the curtains off the Asha 501 with a new and revamped Asha platform on board. At the time of launch, it was announced that the handset will be coming in six bold color options and that it will be released in India in June at a price of around Rs 5,300.

At the same time, Nokia India website has listed that Asha 501 is coming soon to the country. Well, speaking of price, Asha 501 will be priced at Rs 5,300 approximately. In an exclusively interview with GizBot -- Viral Oza, MD, Nokia India confirmed that the newly launched smartphone will support 12 Indian languages on the swipe keyboard. Further, he also revealed the 3G variant of the Asha 501 might get released sometime in the next quarter, that is Q3 2013. Hence, those who are not convinced with the 2G, Wi-Fi version of Nokia Asha 501 will have to wait till September for the 3G version release.

Specwise, Asha 501 will be available in single or EasySwap Dual SIM models for now, featuring a 3 inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 240 pixels, 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, 3.2MP main camera, Wi-Fi, 2G, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 1,200 mAh battery offering up to 17 hours of talk time and 48 days of standby.

Further, Asha 501 is the first device to run on the new Asha platform, which is designed to make the experience faster and more responsive.

Additionally, Nokia has also listed that there are three recommended accessories for the Asha 501. They are Nokia Universal Portable USB Charger DC-18, Nokia Stereo Headset WH-208 and Shell for Nokia Asha 501 CC-3070.

Nokia Universal Portable USB Charger DC-18
