Soon the budget mobile market began to be dominated by smaller companies such as Samsung, Micromax, Maxx mobiles, Spice mobiles, etc. these manufacturers offered mobiles that were very high on the features list and specifications but were very affordable.
But Nokia is now back in contention for top spot in the budget category of mobiles by announcing a whole lot of cheap yet highly feature laden phones. Today we review two of Nokia"s recently announced budget mobiles in the Indian market. The models are Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06.
Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06 , in comparison, are both touch and type based phones that are neatly designed and have decent features. Both feature a 2.6 inch resistive touch screen based display in addition to a sliding physical keypad. The 2 phones are the first touch screen based phones from Nokia to feature Dual SIM support. Both the phones offer dual SIM standby and also includes Nokia"s Easy Swap SIM exchange feature.
Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06 are very similar on the Specifications department and one wonders why the company introduced both the phones together and also with different price tags.
Both the comparison models have the latest in multimedia support including music player, video player, Audio and video recording. Music experience is more enriched with features like FM Radio, multi format media support for ringtones, 3.5 mm audio jack and a bundled headphone. Both the phones have support for playback of a number of media files like MP3, WMV, AVI and even high definition video formats like H263 and H264.
On the connectivity front both the Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06 have support for Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2DP. The phones come with USB cables for PC Sync. Both have the latest 2G internet access technologies like GPRS and EDGE. However both the models lack High speed 3G and Wi-Fi internet connectivity.
The final winner of this competition is rather an awkward choice because there is nothing to differentiate both the phones except the price tag. The Nokia C2-03 is priced at Rs 4700 which is marginally cheaper than the Nokia C2-06 which is priced at around Rs 5000.
