Nokia Introduces Asha 1.4 Software Update: New Features on the Cards

Here's some great news provided you are a proud owner of a Nokia-based Asha handset. According to reports, a brand new Nokia Asha Software Platform v1.4 has been pushed with a host of new features, improvements and (hopefully) fixes.

The update, which is already out and is now available as an over-the-air, has been pushed out for as many as five different Asha phones: Asha 230, Asha 502, Asha 500, Asha 501 and Asha 503.

The latest Asha software update brings Nokia's MixRadio, the free and personalized music streaming service, to the front.

And in case you haven't been reading up on the MixRadio service, for those without access to data connection while on the go, Nokia's MixRadio will allow them to listen to music offline.Nokia MixRadio feature is currently available on Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 devices.

Apart from that Nokia is also offering 7GB of free storage on Microsoft's Cloud-based OneDrive offering, and now it will be possible to automatically or manually transfer digital content to the cloud directly from the phone.

Also, the software update includes other important additions to the camera app, alongside a voice-guided selfie feature and panorama mode to join the party. There's also a power save mode for battery durability, other performance improvements, much improved video stabilization and even parental control for the browser and Nokia Store access.

Users can get access to the new update by visiting the Settings -- Phone Update menu on your phone. Here's a list of all the features the Asha phones are entitled to get via the new update:
