The recently announced whopping 41 MP camera phone Nokia Lumia 1020 has got rave reviews so far. The Finnish tech giant is hoping to excel in the US smartphone market with the latest offering, but the innovative Lumia phone can steal the shares in one more market. Yes, the talk is about India.
It seems like Lumia 1020 will be making its arrival very soon in India. As the handset has already got listed on Nokia India's Official Website and also on the e-commerce site Saholic. The online retailer has listed the handset under the coming soon banner.
After breaking all the barriers in the smartphone world with its monstrous camera, Lumia 1020 has wowed most of the fans around the globe. Moreover, if it lands in Indian market, it will cost approximately Rs. 40,000 or more.
Talking about the internal specifications, the phone boasts of a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA capacitive touch screen display giving resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for scratch and damage resistance and comes with 16 M color depth.
Nokia's latest Lumia 1020 comes packed with a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset and Adreno 225 graphics. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual -core Snapdragon S4 processor coupled with 2GB RAM.
As mentioned earlier, the camera sensor is huge and stands at 41-mega pixels with Xenon flash. Instead of standard camera interface, the company introduced Nokia Pro Camera app. There's a 1.2-mega pixel wide angle front facing camera.
Connectivity options include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and USB. Also, the handset comes with the internal storage capacity of 32GB, however, lacks a microSD card support. In addition to ROM, users can take advantage of 7GB free SkyDrive cloud storage.
Moreover, the Lumia 1020 is powered by a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery that gives a 19 hours talktime on 2G and 13 hours in 3G, capable of offering 16 days standby time on 3G.
The handset is likely to have a fierce battle against Android handsets and possibly it will leave the consumers in a jiffy considering its spectacular specifications. One may want to get an Android handset but looking at the camera of the Lumia 1020, the buyer may change his decision.
