Nokia Lumia 1320 and Lumia 525 To Arrive in India in Mid January 2014

Finland-based Nokia plans to increase its foot hold in India with two new Windows Phone 8 powered handsets. With Microsoft's Windows Phone OS recently emerged as the second most talked about OS in the country, the company will soon bring two of the brightest Lumia phones into country. Nokia recently launched the Lumia 1520 in India at a price point of Rs. 46,999

On the sidelines of 6th Annual Strategy Sharing Summit currently happening in Goa, Nokia officially announced the coming of Lumia 1320 and Lumia 525 for the Indian market. Both Windows Phone 8 handsets will hit Indian market in the first half of 2014, informs Nokia.

The quality and value that Nokia products deliver continues to grow as we partner with developers to introduce app experiences that are unique to Lumia and Windows Phone,"said P Balaji, Managing Director, Nokia India.

Talking more about the Lumia 1320, Nokia seems to be aggressive about the mid-range handset. The Nokia Lumia 1320 will land in India next month, and is expected to be priced half the cost of Lumia 1520. The Lumia 1320 was first unveiled at this year's Nokia World 2013 alongside slew of other handsets.

Lumia 1320 - Highlighted specifications

The Lumia 1320 has a massive 6-inch HD LCD IPS Super sensitive display (ClearBlack) having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 245 ppi. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. Windows Phone 8 comes out of the box.

The phone also packs a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and 0.3MP front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera is capable of recording videos in Full HD format. Moreover, the company also says that it will be offering users 7 GB of free cloud storage. Other connectivity options include: 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, GPS / aGPS, NFC, USB 2.0 and a micro SIM card slot. The device measures 164.25 x 85.9 x 9.79 mm and weighs 220 grams. The makers have added a 3400 mAh integrated battery. Nokia is yet to disclose retail price of the Lumia 1320.

Lumia 525-Highligted specifications

After the success of Lumia 520, an entry level Windows Phone 8 handset, Nokia launches the Lumia 525 for the Indian consumers. The phone made its debut last month, and now the company officially announced the device in India. The biggest USP of Nokia Lumia 525 is the coming of 1GB RAM under the hood.

The handset comes with a 4-inch display having a resolution of WVGA IPS LCD display having a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The Lumia 525 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. Also, you will get free 7GB of cloud storage.

There's a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera without flash, and even a front-facing camera is missing. Moreover, the device comes with Nokia Smart Cam app that let you edit photos in style. The phone also comes pre-loaded with HERE maps.

Users can even change the rear-back covers, as per their taste and color (Yellow, Orange and White) liking. Nokia has added a 1430mAh battery which can give up to 17 hours of talk time, and up to 336 hours of standby time. Other connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and amongst other features.

Once again, Nokia Lumia 525 will be made available from mid-January onwards. According to the official press release, the Lumia 525 will arrive in orange, black, white and white colors. No word on the retail price, though, the phone is expected to be priced around Rs.12,000.
