Nokia Lumia 1320 and Lumia 525 Launch Event Set for January 7: What About Price and Availability?

When Finland-based Nokia launched Lumia 520 in India early last year, it was destined to break few records. Running on the latest version of Windows Phone 8 (WP8), the phone even till now continues to attract more people looking out for a differentiated experience.

To further boost innovation in the low-cost Windows-powered handset market, Nokia will officially start retailing the Lumia 525, a successor to the original Lumia 520, anytime in India. This can be said as earlier today, GizBot received an invite on the behalf of Nokia India. The event will take place in Delhi, and naturally, the center of attraction will be the Lumia 1320 and Lumia 525. The company is expected to announce the official price and retail availability of respective handsets.

Back in December 2013, Nokia officially launched the Lumia 525 and Lumia 1320 phablet, at the 6th Annual Nokia Strategy Sharing Summit held in Goa. Then, Nokia informed that the Lumia 525 and Lumia 1320 will be made available in India from mid-January onwards. However, the company didn't provide exact details in respect to pricing of two devices.

Now it seems that we are getting closer to experience the brand new Lumia 525 in nearby retail stores.

Sources close to GizBot revealed that Nokia will start retailing the phone from January 7 onwards and Lumia 525 might hold a price tag of Rs. 12,000. And to further prove the point around the retail availability of Nokia Lumia 525, GizBot found spotted in the shipment notification from Zauba, that a 4-inch inch device running handset is enroute with an MRP (Maximum Retail Price) price of Rs 11,499.

Nokia has already started to import the device from China in different batches. In fact, as many as 4,856 units have been shipped to India. The Nokia Lumia 525 has been reportedly informed to come in white, black, yellow and orange colors.

Although we're not sure about the retail price, but since the Lumia 520 is priced at Rs. 9,999 (via Nokia Shop) in India, its successor may cost you little more.

Get set ready to witness another stellar WP8 phone from the house of Nokia. Meet Nokia Lumia 525: a 4-inch (480x 800) smartphone made for masses. The successor to highly praised Lumia 520 will go on sale in India this week, sources close to GizBot revealed just a short while ago.

Talking more about Nokia Lumia 525, the phone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. Also, you will get free 7GB of cloud storage.

There's a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera without flash, and even a front-facing camera is missing. Moreover, the handset comes with Nokia Smart Cam app and pre-loaded with HERE maps .Nokia has added a 1430mAh battery m which can give up to 17 hours of talk time, and up to 336 hours of standby time. Other connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and amongst other features.

Nokia Lumia 1320 - Key Specs
The Nokia Lumia 1320 is expected to retail around Rs.25,000 in India. The device incorporates a 6-inch HD LCD IPS Super sensitive display (ClearBlack) having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 245 ppi. It is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, backed by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.

The phablet is running on the Windows Phone 8. The handset also packs a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and 0.3MP front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera is capable of recording videos in Full HD format. Moreover, the company also says that it will be offering users 7 GB of free cloud storage. Other connectivity options include: 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, GPS / aGPS, NFC, USB 2.0 and a micro SIM card slot. The device measures 164.25 x 85.9 x 9.79 mm and weighs 220 grams. The makers have added a 3400 mAh integrated battery.
