Microsoft-owned Nokia has finally stepped into the Android ecosystem by launching its latest Nokia X series of devices, based on the Android platform. However, these all are entry-level Dual SIM supported smartphones aimed at the low-cost market. In the high-end segment, the Finnish giant has already released the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 smartphones which are based on Windows Phone 8 platform.
Although the late entry of Nokia into the Android market might not be appreciated by most but it is quite better than not having one at all, with the Nokia fans also expecting more innovative and futuristic devices.
The fact that the new concept images of the Lumia 1620 smartphone, which incorporates high-end specs configuration, coming from the fans just proves that they want innovative and futuristic devices from Nokia.
While there have been talks surrounding the 2K display featuring smartphones over a couple of months, the new concept image of the Lumia 1620 in fact does include the same resolution. The images come from Karl Panase and according to him the smartphone is meant to offer a glimpse at the designer's vision of "the new face of Lumia."
Obviously it is a high-end smartphone, with a 5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display which churns out a 2K resolution. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 coupled with 3GB of RAM.
There is a 20-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a Lytro camera capable of recording videos in 4K resolution included in the concept phone.
Other hardware the designer has visualized in the phone are Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Dolby Digital Plus sound technology, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space, and a non-removable Li-Ion 3300 mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities. It would be just 8.3 mm thick.
In the software front, you might find a presence of Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and Kinect features.
If the concept phone actually impresses the Finnish smartphone and it follows the same blueprint to make their new flagship device, it will likely be the top-class device to exist in the smartphone market.
