Nokia, the official Windows Phone based smartphone vendor released an entry-level smartphone – Lumia 610 in July boasting an affordable price tag of Rs 12,999 and it was claimed to be the cheapest Windows smartphone launched ever.
However, recently, the Finnish manufacturer created waves of excitement among the budget-conscious consumers by unveiled the rumored Nokia Lumia 510, which replaced Lumia 610. Now, the new Lumia 510 smartphone is available for sale online at a price of Rs. 9,999 on Flipkart.
Interestingly, during launch Nokia officials informed that Lumia 510 would be priced "below Rs. 11,000" however now the handset is available at a lower price instead instead of "Preorder Now", which means it should start showing up in retail stores soon enough. Further, Flipkart has also mentioned to deliver the phone in 6-8 business days.
Well this is a good news foe Window Phone OS lovers, as the new smartphone certainly seems to been a worthy budget device with great camera features and collection of preloaded apps including Nokia Maps, Nokia Transport and Nokia Drive navigation apps. Also, Nokia is offering bundling three-months of unlimited Nokia Music and Nokia MixRadio subscription with the smartphone.
Further, if you are looking to experience the likes of a Windows Phone operating system and learn the basic features before switching to the latest WP8 option, then Lumia 510 is not a bad choice at all at a decent price tag accompanied with 4 inch screen display and swift interface.
Talking about specs, Lumia 510 carries a dimension of 120.7 x 64.9 x 11.5mm and weighs in at 129 grams. The handset packs a 4 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is powered by an 800MHz single-core processor under its hood. Likewise Lumia 610, the handset is based on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, but it will be upgraded to Windows Phone 7.8 OS.
Lumia 510 is equipped with 4GB internal storage and 256MB RAM. However, it lacks a micro SD card for additional memory support. Being a Windows Phone handset, Lumia 510has 7GB SkyDrive cloud storage for free. The handset houses a 5MP rear camera and lacks a front facing VGA camera for video calling.
In terms of connectivity, Lumia 510 comes packed with features including Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G and micro USB 2.0 port. Further, the handset is loaded with a 1,300 mAh BP-3L battery delivering 6.2 hours talk time and 653 hours standby.
