Nokia Lumia series has been under lots of scrutiny since its launch because of the fact that it would be Nokia’s first windows platform based phone.

The phone has got some very good reviews till now even though exact sales figures are not yet available. Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the biggest android based handset out there in the market. This phone will be a very serious competitor for Nokia Lumia 800.

Nokia Lumia 800 and Samsung Galaxy Note are feature packed smart phones and they provide you with everything that you can get from a smart phone. Both the devices are designed in a block form factor.

The dimensions of Nokia Lumia 800 are 117mm x 61 mm x 12 mm and that of Samsung Galaxy Note are 146mm x 83mm x 10 mm. Nokia Lumia 800 and Samsung Galaxy Note weighs 142 and 176 grams respectively. Considering the dimensions and weight Samsung Galaxy Note is bit on the bulky side. But it is not that bulky that you cannot carry around. The phone is sufficiently compact to ensure trouble free carrying.

Both the phones support 2G and 3G networks. They can work in 2G network frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G network frequencies of 850/900/1900/2100. The touch screen display in Nokia Lumia 800 is of 3.70 inches and the device offers a screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

The screen can display 16,000,000 vibrant colors too .Samsung Galaxy Note has a much larger touch screen display of 5.3 inches and it packs in a screen resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels. This is one of the largest displays that you can find in a smart phone. It will be surely a pleasure enjoying videos and pictures in this device. Both the phones have 8 mega pixel main camera. The camera is provided with auto focus features as well as an LED flash.

This high resolution can take images with as much clarity as a professional imaging device. They can record videos too with a sufficiently high speed. A secondary camera is absent in Nokia Lumia 800. Samsung Galaxy Note has one and it is of 2 mega pixel resolution. The secondary camera mainly satisfies the purpose as a video calling camera.

Nokia Lumia runs in 1.4 GHz MSM8255 processor and an Adreno graphic processor. The phone has a system memory capacity of 512MB and an internal memory of about 16 GB. Samsung Galaxy Note has a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor that has the same clock speed as that of the Nokia Lumia’s processor. The graphic processing unit in it is Mali-400MP and the system memory of the device is 1GB.

This processor with high RAM can make the phone work wonders. It can work well with the most processor intensive tasks and high graphic games. The phone has two options for the internal memory. You can either select the 16GB version or the 32GB version. There is an external memory card option too which can be increased to up to 32 GB.

The battery in Nokia Lumia 800 is of 1450 mAh capacity and it can provide the phone with about 265 hours of standby time and 780 minutes of talk time. Samsung has a bigger battery of 2500mAh capacity and can provide the phone with up to 570 hours of standby time and 780 minutes of talk time.

The current price in India is not available officially. But we expect that Nokia Lumia 800 which has Windows operating system has a price tag of closer to Rs. 30, 000 where as the Samsung Galaxy Note which runs on Android platform has a price tag of about Rs. 35,000/-.
