A rumour has it that Nokia will launch a new high-end mobile at the Mobile World Congress trade show which is scheduled to start from February 27. This was revealed by Forbes which claims that the information was provided by an industry source. The Mobile World Congress is the biggest annual conference in the mobile industry and will be held in Barcelona this year.
It is expected that the announcement that will made in the World Congress will indicate the strategy for 2012. Nokia has been very calculative in the manner in which it launches the new models based on Windows operating system. Nokia has now three mobiles phones which work on Windows operating system; the Lumia 710, 800 and the 900.
As with the case of any other competitors, the Finnish Manufacturer maintains utmost secrecy with respect to the announcements to be made in the MWC. But now the rumour about the new handset was revealed by one of Nokia’s partners to Forbes and it declined to reveal the whereabouts such the operating system on which the mobile operates. It said that the handset operates on an operating system that is usually found on high end smart phones.
The mostly circulated rumour is that it is a high-end smart phone named Nokia Lumia 910. Technology blogs have already started to think about what Nokia will have on store for the Mobile World Congress. It is said that the Nokia Lumia 910 will be a European Version of Lumia 900 which is targeted at the United States market.
Almost all the key features of Lumia 900
But proposed to have a much bigger camera, 12 mega pixel camera
Nokia was quick to denounce it as a rumour and the company sources responded that 910 do not exist. However Nokia has scheduled a press conference for February 27, 2012, on the same day on the start of Mobile World Congress. In the invitation to the press which said “Adventure in Barcelona” did not give any idea of the news to be announced. There are other speculations that Nokia is going to launch Windows 8 tablet and new handsets that operates on Symbian Operating system.
In 2011, Nokia held an offsite press conference in which the then newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Nokia came out with his vision for the company and phones that operates on Windows OS.
In the case of the Lumia 910, which is said to be launched in MWC, we might have to wait till the formal announcement is made by Nokia in the press conference.
