Nokia Lumia 920 not Coming to India in November 2012 [REPORT]
When Nokia announced their flagship Lumia 920 model, India was included in the list of countries which will receive this model in the first wave of its launch. However, now Nokia India has confirmed to BGR that including India in that list was an error and the device will not be launching in India in November as it was reported earlier.
Nokia India sources have told BGR that they will soon announce the release date in India and the reports have indicated that the company is currently testing the Lumia devices with mobile carriers in India. It seems that the company wants to test out the model before they launch it so as to avoid any issues. We all know how critical Lumia 920 launch is to Nokia as they are pinning their hopes on this smartphone to regain their market share in markets like India.
Though the experts believe that Nokia could have avoided making this error of listing India in the initial launch list, this extra time could go in their favor. But Nokia has to make sure that Lumia 920 is trouble free and fully geared to meet the expectations of Indian consumers.
This could even mean preloading the custom apps relevant to Indian market and consumers. Exclusive testing of this model with Indian carriers could help Nokia pull this off and make it a grand success in the market unlike the earlier Lumia models which failed to make an impact in the market.
Nokia has slipped to all time low of 7th position when it comes to smartphone segment last quarter as per Gartner’s recent research report. The company hopes to arrest this declining trend with the launch of Lumia 920.
