Lumia 920, the current flagship smartphone of the Finnish tech giant Nokia and one of the five Windows Phone 8 based handsets, which is being eagerly awaited by the Indian tech enthusiasts is yet to make its way to the country.

Earlier, there were reports claiming that Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 will be launched in India officially in November, however, its just a few more hours for the month to end and the Nokia smartphone has still not been launched.

However, Nokia India has confirmed to BGR that including India in that list was an error and the device will not be launching in India in November as it was reported earlier. But, the report suggested that Nokia is testing the handset with the carriers in India and that there is no delay in the launch.

Moreover, going by the past records of Nokia, the company has not been quick enough to launch the Lumia handsets including the recently released Lumia 900 as far as India is concerned. Hence, Lumia 920 is likely to be launched in a few weeks.

With this information made clear, an earlier Tech 2 report citing sources claimed that the new Lumia handsets will be launched in December simultaneously. However, there was no word regarding specific launch dates or price.

Following this, a recent Tech 2 report claims that Nokia will not be launching the handsets in December, instead the handsets will make their way into the country in 2013. Again, there is no official launch date, but it suggests that the handsets could hit the retail shelves in January.

Speaking of Nokia’s flagship smartphone Lumia 920, the handset packs a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels along with PureMotion HD and ClearBlack display technologies. The handset is equipped with an 8.7MP rear camera with PureView branding, 1.2MP front camera, 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, NFC connectivity and 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery.

Further, the handset is packed with groundbreaking features including wireless charging and glove-friendly capacitive touchscreen display.

In terms of pricing, the report speculates that Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 could be priced at Rs 40,750 and Rs 31,700 respectively.Check goProbo.com for online smartphone pricing.
